English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Multilingualism

Located just off Barton Street, named ‘Britain’s most diverse street where over 70 languages are spoken’ (Gloucestershire LIVE).  We have 28 languages spoken within our school. Children and staff recognise multilingualism as an asset and this is evident when you visit our school.

Parents and staff read ‘Home Stories’ to children who share the same home language.

Each month we have a ‘Language of the Month’, when children and staff learn key phrases in a language represented within our school.
