Headteacher's Welcome

I am delighted to be the Executive Headteacher of this wonderful school and have taken great pride in seeing how it has grown from strength to strength over the last few years. I am extremely proud to be leading a staff team that is committed to every child’s well-being and to providing exceptional learning opportunities for not only the children in our care, but also their families. As part of the newly formed Hatherley/St James Federation, we now have two schools that work collaboratively to ensure an all through educational experience for all the children who join us.

St James’ Church of England Junior School takes pride in being a diverse, multi-cultural community, welcoming pupils of all abilities. We are proud of our established links with St James’ Church and our teaching practice and ethos is based upon Christian principles and seven specific key values. Respect is at the centre of these values.

All our staff play a vital role in our school community. They are committed and passionate about ensuring all our children reach their full potential. The large range of learning opportunities available at St James’ provide the chance to enrich the pupils’ lives and prospects in their learning, as well as setting them up with skills for life.

Care and compassion are vitally important at St James’, and lead to children feeling safe and secure.

Now part of DGAT

With effect from 1st May 2024, the school converted to an academy as part of DGAT (Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust.)
